I installed Dashwire a few days ago after seeing a new version show up in freewarepocketpc.net's daily Email. The idea that it could sync my SMS messages, contacts, etc., and let me login via desktop browser to retrieve/manipulate everything sounded pretty intriguing.
It installed cleanly, runs error-free, and let me set up an account upon running for the first time.
My biggest beef so far is that by default, it will sync *everything* on your phone before prompting you as to what you want to sync to their web site. I brought this to their attention in their website feedback and got this response:
Agree that you should be able to select the items you want to sync before the sync actually initiates. I fired your feedback off to the team and expect for it to be incorporated in our next mobile push.
Otherwise, their web interface is really great and easy to use. The amount of what it backs up is pretty handy for a free service. I'm curious if they expect to charge for the service or be ad-supported or have paid tech support or what.
